Play Heroes II against someone else, both of you in the browser.

Open games

Looking for open games…

What to play

How it works

  1. One of you hosts. The host downloads the game data once — one press, about 20 MB — and it is kept in their browser for next time.
  2. The match goes on the list of open games, under a name the host can change, and anyone looking for a game can press Join. To play one particular person instead, the host ticks private: the match leaves the list and the six-character code, or the invite link beside it, becomes the only way in.
  3. The other one joins — no download, no game files, not even a copy of Heroes II. They see the host's game as a live stream and play their own side over it.
  4. A single battle puts you both on one setup screen to build the two armies, then you fight it out; a few minutes. A whole scenario starts with the host choosing a map, and the kingdoms and colours are settled together once the other one has arrived — hours, and it cannot be saved.

Game data damaged, or a game refusing to start?

Want to play a map of your own?

Whole scenarios are experimental. They are the newest part of this and the least played: expect rough edges, and remember a scenario cannot be saved — closing this tab ends it. Single battles are the settled mode. Either way a connection can fail to establish and sound does not always come through.
